Connaught Academy has successfully achieved the Institute of Leadership & Management (ILM) Approved Centre status and is now able to deliver the ILM Team Leading Award at Level 2 though the groups’ national training Academy from May 2008.
The ILM accreditation has been integrated into the Connaught Academy’s People Development framework and supports those working as team leaders or in first line management roles. ILM accreditation offers this core group of people the opportunity for their leadership development to be formally recognised through the achievement of a leading national qualification.
Connaught Academy director, Dave Reynolds said:
‘We currently employ over 7,500 people so the range of skills we employee is vast. We underwent a rigorous quality process to achieve ILM status and being able to offer recognised, first class training and assessment provision and a coherent career progression to both our employees and the communities we serve, is a step forward in the Academy’s evolution and a testament to our facility.’
Pam Heneberry, ILM National Business Manager for Wales/Cymru said:
‘We are delighted that Connaught Academy has chosen ILM qualifications to be the leadership and management development route for their learners. All ILM assessment is practically-based, so the key skills and knowledge are transferred directly into the workplace, bringing immediate business benefits.’
